Anteneh Asefa Mekonnen has a MPH and BSc in Nursing. He has several responsibilities in his position at Hawassa University School of Public and Environmental Health as lecturer and health care management module coordinator and formerly served as assistant dean of health science faculty at another government university. He is an author and a co-author of eight research activities contributing to the health sector. He has also served as a part-time consultant for the Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureaus, and NGOs. He has conducted training of trainers on maternal, newborn, and child health and the PMTCT services. In addition to several other reproductive health based trainings

Mentor

Delayehu Bekele, MD, is Assistant Professor of Obstetrician and Gynaecology at Saint Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPMMC) and also the Project Director of the Health Facility Networking for Maternal Health Project, run by SPMMC in collaboration with the Maternal Health Task Force of Harvard University and Addis Continental Institute of Public Health. He has served as a Safe Motherhood Adviser at ICAP-Ethiopia and was involved in different emergency obstetric and neonatal care strengthening activities in the different regions of Ethiopia. He is also member of the Safe Motherhood Technical Advisory Group of the Federal Ministry of Health.

Project

As a Young Champion, Anteneh explored how to improve the institutional delivery service in southern Ethiopia at Saint Paul’s Hospital Millennium Medical College.
