Vasudha Chakravarthy has a Master’s degree in Public Health and experience in conducting research and evaluation studies. Vasudha has analyzed data to support maternal and child health interventions in several states in India. At her current job at TRIOs Development Support, Vasudha coordinated a study on adolescent reproductive and sexual health and rights across multiple states. She has experience in undertaking field based studies and managing large data sets and has been exposed to a variety of perspectives on reproductive and maternal health issues.

Mentor

Dr. Pushpa Tiwari presently works for Tata Steel Family Initiative Foundation (TSFIF) as Joint Administrator and manages various Maternal and Child Health, and Family Planning programs. She has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and a Post Graduate Degree in Maternal and Child Health (PGDMCH). In addition, she is a Visionary Leadership Program Fellow of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation. Pushpa has experience working with international organisations such as CARE on a Child Survival Project and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation on an Adolescent Reproductive Health Project. She has over 16 years of experience in the implementation of health programs.

Project

As a Young Champion, Vasudha worked with Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation to conduct a study of the national cash transfer scheme to reduce maternal mortality to examine in what circumstances cash transfer is adequate to overcome cost constraints and socio-cultural factors which may prevent a pregnant woman from seeking an institutional delivery.
