MHTF is looking forward to the discussion, Human Resources for Maternal Health: Midwives, TBAs, and Task-Shifting, to be held Wednesday, January 6, at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, DC from 3-5 pm.
There, you will see Dr. Seble Frehywot, assistant research professor of health policy and global health at George Washington University, who will address the motivation and methods for task sharing. Dr. Jeffrey Smith, regional technical director for Asia at Jhpiego, who will discuss his field work experience developing workforce plans for midwives and traditional birth attendants, including in Afghanistan. Finally, Pape Gaye, president & CEO of IntraHealth, who will discuss the importance of retention and other long-term strategies in human resources for maternal health.
The event is the second in the series, on Advancing Policy Dialogue on Maternal Health sponsored by MHTF, UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, and the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Global Health Initiative, and there is still time to RSVP!
