Humanitarian Actors Must Meet the Specific Health Needs of Women and Girls Displaced by the Earthquake

The Reproductive Health Response in Crises Consortium (RHRC) has issued a statement urging humanitarian organizations to provide lifesaving reproductive health services to women and girls displaced by the earthquake in Haiti.

The RHRC Consortium estimates that there are currently 63,000 pregnant women in Port au Prince—and that 7,000 women will deliver in the next month.

The statement calls for specific actions to be taken on issues of safe delivery, sexual violence and exploitation, HIV/AIDS, and family planning.
