MHTF partner, The Global Network for Tropical Diseases and the World Health Organization cordially invite you to a reception marking the release of the first-ever WHO report on Neglected Tropical Diseases, “Working to Overcome the Global Impact of Neglected Tropical Diseases.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) will release its first comprehensive report on the state of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), “Working to Overcome the Global Impact of Neglected Tropical Diseases,” on Thursday, October 14, 2010. The reception will highlight the report which assesses global progress, takes stock of achievements and identifies the future challenges that impact the control and elimination of NTDs.

 

The program will include remarks from two renowned leaders in NTD research and advocacy:

 

  • Dr. Lorenzo Svaioli, Director, Department of Control of Neglected Tropical Diseases, WHO
  • Dr. Peter Hotez, President, Sabin Vaccine Institute
