Call for Submission: Evaluation of mhealth

Posted on

We’ve discussed mhealth repeatedly here on the blog and are also funding some mhealth initiatives in developing countries. One shortcoming of the mhealth movement, largely because it is a nascent movement, has been a lack of evidence regarding the success of various initiatives that use mobile technology to promote better health outcomes.

In order to fill this gap, many organizations (including the MHTF) are supporting research in the field. Recently, the Journal of Health Communications and the Collaborating Centers for Global Health and Development at George Washington University put out a call for submissions on the topic.

The Journal of Health Communication is seeking submissions for a special edition focused on measurement and evaluation outcomes forthe use of mobile and wireless technologies in health care (mHealth). Manuscripts of no more than 3,000-words will be accepted until March 28, 2011. This supplement will be released at the December 2011 mHealth Summit in Washington, DC.
