Another Chapter from the Young Champions of Maternal Health

Posted on

In the last phase of their mentorships, many of the Young Champions have found themselves excited about the possibilities that lay ahead and nervous about the potential challenges they will face while continuing to tackle the enduring challenge of maternal death and disability. This month, many of the Young Champions wrote about the Young Champions Future Forum in Accra, Ghana. From May 2 – 4, the Young Champions had the opportunity to reconvene from their placements around the world to learn from some of the leading social innovators in the maternal health field. The 3 day Young Champions Future Forum was packed with impassioned discussions and idea exchanges. The Young Champions were particularly excited to have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Fred Sai, often referred to as the “father of the maternal health movement”, in such an intimate setting. Check out their inspiring blog posts below. They will continue to blog about their experiences next month. You can learn more about Ashoka, the Maternal Health Task Force at EngenderHealth, the individual Young Champions, and the program here. Enjoy!
