Global Status Report on National Programs for Postpartum Hemorrhage and Pre-Eclampsia/Eclampsia

Posted on

Our colleagues at MCHIP recently completed the 2nd annual survey of national programs aimed at managing postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) and pre-eclampsia/eclampsia (PE/E). The survey included countries from several regions and focused on USAID priority countries with the highest burdens of maternal morbidity. The purpose of this piece of work was to evaluate the progress of national PPH and PE/E  programs between 2011 and 2012.

About the report:

The report includes a description of the methods, data and analysis—including comparisons of the 2011 and 2012 status for 31 countries. The full version of the report contains the appendices, which include the original blank survey in English, French and Spanish, the specific survey responses from 37 countries, and completed scale-up maps. In addition, this year’s report looks at service delivery guidelines and essential medicines lists from a smaller subset of countries.
