Next week, April 11th will mark the third annual call to action for the International Day for Maternal Health and Rights. We are calling on the UN Secretary General to officially recognize this date in support of global maternal health. While we have made great strides in the last decade, we must redouble our efforts if we are to end preventable maternal mortality by 2030.

There are several ways for you to show your support on (or before) April 11th:

  1. Sign the petition to the UN Secretary General
  2. Contribute a blog post on why we need an International Day for Maternal Health and Rights
  3. Join the #IntlMHDay Twitter Chat Relay, April 11 starting at 9:30 AM EST

Please consider getting involved as we rally support for maternal health and rights. For more information or ways to get involved, please contact us.

The International Day for Maternal Health and Rights is co-organized by the Center for Health and Gender Equity (CHANGE), Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF), EngenderHealth, Ibis Reproductive Health, International Planned Parenthood Federation Western Hemisphere Region (IPPF/WHR), Maternal Health Task Force (MHTF), Pathfinder International, White Ribbon Alliance, and Women Deliver.
