Ten years ago, the Maternal Health Task Force was founded with the vision of creating a strong, well-informed and collaborative global community focused on ending preventable maternal mortality and morbidity worldwide. We launched in 2008 at EngenderHealth and relocated in 2011 to the Harvard Chan School of Public Health. The mission of the Maternal Health Task Force (MHTF) has been to serve as a catalyst – sparking innovations, reaching consensus, fostering collaboration and promoting evidence-based practices. Always striving to amplify the diversity of voices and ideas within the global maternal health community, we have also advocated fiercely on behalf of women everywhere for their right to a healthy pregnancy and positive birth experience.

In gratitude to all those who have been part of the MHTF from its inception until now, we will gather on 17 September 2018 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the MHTF, showcase achievements in global maternal health and chart a course forward for critical steps to end preventable maternal mortality and optimize maternal health around the world. We hope that you will join us in Boston for this special event.

As we come together to celebrate the 10th anniversary, we want to hear from you about how you have been impacted by the work of the MHTF over the years. Please send us a brief written reflection, photo and/or a video message by 1 August 2018. Submissions will be reviewed for inclusion in a short video which will debut at the Global Maternal Health Symposium on 17 September 2018.

>> Submit your testimonial

As we end this phase of the MHTF later this year, we also want to look to the future and recognize important achievements. The MHTF is seeking nominations for the inaugural Maternal Health Visionary Awards. We are searching for individuals who have made an impact, push for innovation, inspire others, demonstrate sound leadership and have a powerful vision for the future of maternal health. The call for nominations is open from now through 15 July 2018 at 11:59PM ET. Award recipients will be announced at the Global Maternal Health Symposium on 17 September 2018.
