In October 2012 the Gates Foundation awarded PATH and the World Health Organization (WHO) a one-year “Prevention of Malaria in Pregnancy” grant to reduce adverse outcomes due to malaria in pregnancy by increasing IPTp and ITN uptake in selected countries in East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda). The project team contacted maternal health and malaria leaders in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia to identify delegates to attend the Global Maternal Health Conference 2013 (GMHC 2013) in Tanzania in January 2013. This report discusses some of the outcomes of the Tanzania conference and documents the presentations given.
