Founded in 1976, Action India believes in the power of the people. Action India provides a community based platform for advocacy and action to secure the rights of the most marginalized. Action India’s vision and goal to reach a gender just and equal society requires that men and women work together to change the system which is structured and biased against the poor, the dalits and women and girls in particular. Action India believes in the right of all women and girls to live with dignity and self-esteem. It works to eliminate discrimination and stop violence against women and girls, enhance women’s and girls’ access to economic rights, and for their participation in development.
