Childbirth Survival International (CSI) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit humanitarian organization. CSI works to improve timely access to quality and skilled healthcare services for pregnant women, newborns, children and adolescents/youth in marginalized communities. CSI is a member at the World Health Organization Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH).
CSI primarily implements interventions to make pregnancy and labor and delivery safer for the mother and newborn plus optimizes child survival for the first five years. CSI works with young people to improve access to quality reproductive health care services focusing on STDs, HIV/AIDS, and prevention of unintended pregnancies. CSI works with communities to foster project sustainability. CSI efforts to reach the unreached contribute to national and global health agendas to end preventable maternal newborn morbidity or mortality.
