Maternal Health, HIV, and AIDS: Examining Research Through a Programmatic Lens
This Q&A panel focused on the session, “Maternal Health, HIV, and AIDS: Where are we now?” discussed various topics with Calvert, Danel, Menendez and Koblinsky. Topics raised included: delay of service due to labor costs, problems distinguishing severity of pregnant woman’s status, medical misdiagnoses during HIV+ pregnant woman’s medical treatment, verbal autopsies and their use in other fields, the need to look at the individual level of care of pregnant women on ART and the comparisons and differences of USA medical cases with other countries.
