The Maternal Health Task Force is excited to launch the first MHTF People’s Choice Buzz! The People’s Choice Buzz is a newsletter highlighting the most important research in maternal health curated by members of the global maternal health community. Starting on September 6, 2021, YOU can cast your vote to choose the top 5 research articles that you think others in the global maternal health community should know about!
The voting period will begin on September 6, 2021 and continue until September 17, 2021. At the end of the voting period, the top 5 articles will be shared with our MHTF audience and the winner of the People’s Choice Buzz Lottery will be announced as well.
How to Participate
We have selected 10 articles for our first People’s Choice Buzz. Participating is as easy as 1-2-3!
- Review 10 recently published maternal health papers
- Pick your top 5 articles
- Cast your vote
General Guidelines for Selecting an Article
Below are general guidelines to consider when voting for your top 5 articles:
- Relevance to the MHTF audience
- Reliability of the source
- Peer-reviewed journals (e.g. The Lancet, PLOS, JAMA)
- Reports from reputable organizations (e.g. WHO, Gates Foundation, UNFPA)
- Quality of the evidence
- Study design
- Substantial sample size appropriate for type of study
- Non-biased and clearly explained research methodology
People's Choice Buzz Lottery
Voters participating in the People’s Choice Buzz are entered into a lottery to receive a one-on-one Zoom session with an author of one of the articles voted to be part of the newsletter. We will randomly select one person out of those who opted-in. This presents an opportunity for maternal health community members to directly engage with researchers and delve deeper into their work. The lottery winner will also be featured on our website.
