Overview: More than 500,000 women die of pregnancy-related conditions, and an estimated four million newborns die, each year. Yet nearly all of those life-threatening conditions can be addressed effectively with safe low-tech interventions by skilled providers at peripheral health center and district hospital levels. This course describes key technical and programmatic considerations in the implementation of those life-saving interventions.
