This brief describes three important achievements of the Uganda MOH and the Fistula Technical Working Group: • Building an information base for obstetric fistula, to better plan for and manage prevention, treatment, and reintegration services • Integrating fistula services into the Ugandan health system • Establishing standards, guidelines, and protocols to guide services
The goal of this curriculum is to prepare service providers at all levels to provide information and counseling to fistula clients, including referral for treatment and recovery services and counseling for related issues outside their usual scope of work.
